How the other half lives

We docked in Galveston around the 13th of August. We will be here for probably another two months.

Across the canal is where Carnival Cruise Lines docks. There are two different ships that we see regularly.

Every Sunday the larger of the two comes in, it is the Carnival Conquest. We all go out at 0600 in the morning to watch it come down the channel. When it gets just past the pier, it utterly spins 180 degrees, then slides sideways up to the dock.
