Jack McAllister

That is ceiling....
Coming home from a long hitch, was hard enough!!! Missing all the holidays this year. We had several good storms in the Pacific Northwest, un-natural cold. I was warned that there was a problem with the pipes in the shop. I was even sent pictures of the mess, and the dry wall had fallen, the insulation full of water. This house is only 4 years old.....

I had heard from my boy - the roof was leaking. How could that be???? Get up on the roof and shovel the snow off, if it is that heavy and causing problems. Nope he says the roof is still leaking. A week later my girl, goes up to the house. This is one kid that I can walk through the house and find out what was going on. I have her under the house, nope all dry. Walking through everything to see where the problem is - cuz now they tell me there is no water pressure in the house. I am on a well, this is new for me. She goes into the shop - sounds like she is standing next to a waterfall. Im like "where are you"...Pepe hears it, and goes Oh Pipes Broke.... what the hell???? They ran the plumbing through the ceiling in the shop. I have never heard of such a thing. Then we try to figure out how to turn the water off to the shop. Well back the girl goes under the house - mean while, her brother is inside whinning about not having water, he boyfriend is asleep on the couch.
No luck in figuring this out - just going to have to flip the breaker to the well and shut all the water off to the house. She walks out into the garage to locate the breaker - horrible noise!!! Oh, that is the hot water heater burning up, cuz it has been out of water for the week also... Auuugggghhhhhhhh!!!! Flip the breaker to that - still bad noise. She was like, well cant I just unplug it? OK? They dont just plug in, but go ahead. Noise stops - it was a pressure regulator on top of the water heater. One more thing to look at when I get there....The kids need to pack up and get somewhere else - I would be home in about a week, to deal with it

Pepe comes home with me. Since the kids had to shut the well off to the house, I had no idea where to start to get this done.
There is still like 3 foot of snow around the house - it had melted froze and snowed again. So we came in at like midnight - the girl was back at the house. With jugs of bottled water and tried to clean the house as much as possible. We get up in the morning. First order of business is to find where to terminate the water to the shop - and get water on in the main house. Digging through the snow and trying to locate the water main. No luck - so pull the insulation that is hanging in water filled plastic to find the pipes that are in the flippin ceiling. Found where they came in by the window - cut them. Now off to the hardware store to cap them and get more stuff. K, got them capped!!! Flip the breaker. Waala - water to the house. Now to the water heaters, we got running water - sounds like they are filling. Woohoo, and we finally have hot water.
Next order of business.... Oh yeah - the girl turned 21 while I was gone. So now my best friend is coming with one of the boys (nephew) that grew up with the girl. The boy is coming home - we just got water, but hey - that isnt stopping the girl from having the trip to downtown Portland that she was promised!!!! Lets get ready - we have places to go.... Lets not mind the mess the house is in - as you can tell from the first picture, what the shop looked like after having water drain through the ceiling for over a week.....
