Merry Christmas

This was my favorite email of the Christmas Season this year..... Just loved it!!!!

I came home after spending a day in New Orleans. Actually did some tourist stuff, went to the Civil War museum (no pictures allowed, but the nice gentleman let me take pictures of the inside of the building - Outstanding).

Went to the Chalmette Battlefield and Cemetery.

The Cemetery was a mess! It is a National Cemetery, not taken care of at all. The interesting thing there was the headstones. They are a certain shape for different wars. We were not able to go to the Malus-Beauregard House, due to construction. I took all sorts of pictures and was so excited to share them. Spent the night at the Historic French Market Inn. The past few times I have booked at a 'historic' hotel I have been greatly disappointed. This was no exception. I did not get the room that I had reserved, the courtyard was invested with rats. In the evening you could see them running around the courtyard and hear them talking, fighting or whatever they do when they screech in the bushes. I would expect rats in the City and especially a couple of blocks from Bourbon Street, but they really need a couple of cats!!!

Then what i discovered when I got home, was that - when messing with the camera, and under the tab marked 'tools' there is another button 'format disk' - guess what that does???? It erases the pictures on the memory card, so you have more room.... Lovely, I deleted all the pictures.

I also had pictures of the rig in Pascagoula, MS and the torturous stair tower that was all of 11 flights! All nothing but a memory now.

When I came home, I had doctor appointments lined up each and every day (seemed like a good idea at the time).

On Wednesday I had a dermatology appointment. I was somewhat anxious about what the procedures might be, so the doctor I saw on Monday gave me ONE Valium. No more of the mothers little helpers do they hand out without good reason, then it is strictly monitored, so ONE it was. I took it 40 mins before the appointment. It all went good, felt some pain, so when I left I took a Vicodan, then went shopping. Apparently this all works well together about 15 mins into a shopping trip.

I had been fussing over a Christmas tree. When you are native to the Pacific Northwest it is a sin to have a fake tree. However, I did not want the mess on the wood floors. I kept after my daughter we would put a real tree in the yard and decorate it and have a fake tree in the house. She was not buying this solution. But we looked at fake trees anyway. That was when I discover the Cherry Blossom lighted tree! Oh how kewl! There was no talking me out of it, so I thought we got the white lights..... Next was the wine section, so much to choose from! My daughter walked off, when she heard all sorts of clanging and banging - she peeks around the corner thinking I had knocked the entire row over. Ha, it was not me - they are restocking the shelves..... One more stop for her to find a gift for her friend and we were out of there.

This is what we ended up with for a tree - certainly a drug induced haze.......

Next year will be better - its gotta be!!!!
